Dr McElduff, clinical endocrinologist, has a longstanding interest in the basic mechanisms underlying paradoxical clinical conditions in endocrinology. More recently (30 years), he has been involved with clinical care and research in the field of diabetes in pregnancy. He is now enjoying retirement from clinical work but is more than happy to do a “Dame Nellie” for the Jeremy Oats Oration.
